Tejas Mk1

Some are calling this ORCA (Omni roll combat aircraft) or TEDPF (twin-engine deck fighter aircraft), but no one is sure. But according to media reports it will be designed on the base of Tejas MK2 to replace Mig-29 which is used on the Indian Aircraft carrier and its design is not well shape, it will be modified during manufacturing.

Tejas mk1A

According to media record, its mid-section has a bigger intake and longer spin compared to Tejas MK2 and it will have a next-generation wide-area display, side-stick controllers and high power indigenous flight control system like Tejas MK2 and the most important thing it will be equipped with UTTAM AESA radar which can detect fifth-generation fighter aircraft.

Indian Navy and ADA have decided to integrate with a conformal fuel tank for carrying extra fuel and will not need to carry an extra drop tank. It will have a total 13 hard point that is almost equal to Su-30mki which has 12 hardpoints. It will be equipped with American General Electric F414 which is also selected for Tejas Mk2 and this engine is also used in American Naval fighter jet F/A-18 Super Hornet. It will be 2 meters longer than Tejas Mk2 and heavier than it due to longer midsection and conformal fuel tank.
